Why verify Close emails

Close is built for teams that sell by calling and emailing all day. Sequences run from reps' own mailboxes, which means every bounce is recorded against a real person's sending account and domain.

Prospect lists are often built from enrichment tools, scraped sources and guesses at a company's email pattern. Checking each new contact's address before it enters a sequence protects the reps' inboxes and the domain everyone sends from.

    Store the verdict on the contact

    Create custom fields for the verdict and score and update the contact after the check. Smart views can then filter to reachable contacts only.

    Filter on Safe to send before the step that subscribes a contact to a sequence.

    For invalid emails with a phone number, create a call task, so the lead is worked on the channel that still works.

    Get your API key

    Create a key on the API keys page of your BounceIntel dashboard. Keys come with any paid plan and start with bi_live_.

    Start the Zap in Close

    In Zapier, choose Close as the trigger app and pick New Contact, or open a template above, which does this for you.

    Add Verify Email Address

    Add BounceIntel as the action, connect it with your key, and map the email field from Close into the Email field.

    Act on the verdict

    Add a Filter on Safe to send, Paths on the verdict, or an update step that writes the verdict and score back to Close.

Why does this matter more in Close than in other CRMs?

Close sends from your reps' connected mailboxes, so bounces land on your own domain's reputation directly rather than on a marketing platform's shared infrastructure.

Can I verify a lead's other contacts?

Each contact is its own trigger event in Zapier, so every new contact on a lead is checked separately.

How many BounceIntel credits does this use?

One credit for each address checked. A Zap that runs 300 times a month uses 300 credits, and Zapier counts its own tasks separately.

Do I need a paid BounceIntel plan?
