ZeroBounce is one of the most visible names in email hygiene and the product has grown well beyond verification. Around the verifier sit scoring, inbox placement testing, blacklist monitoring, data appends and more. It is a lot of surface area, marketed hard, and for some teams that breadth is exactly right.
The teams that come to us tend to want the opposite: one job, done thoroughly, with results they can explain. This page sets out where that difference actually shows up.
01
What ZeroBounce is good at
Breadth. If you want verification, inbox placement, blacklist monitoring and audience data from the same login, few competitors match the range, and a single vendor across all of it saves real coordination effort.
They also invest heavily in visibility and support, and for a marketing team without an engineer nearby, a large vendor with a lot of documentation and a support desk is a rational choice.
02
Why people narrow it down
A suite is priced as a suite. When you use one module, the arithmetic stops working in your favour, and that is the most common reason people start comparing.
The second reason is the shape of a result. Deliverability scoring is a useful idea and it is also an opinion expressed as a number. When you have to justify a decision to a client or a compliance reviewer, an opinion is harder to defend than a finding: this domain accepts mail for every local part, this mailbox was refused, this provider declined to answer.
03
Where BounceIntel works differently
We publish the evidence with the verdict. A result is a reachability verdict, a score from 0 to 100 you can threshold yourself, the reason codes behind it, and a recommended action. You can set your own risk line rather than accepting ours.
We also do not sell certification badges, audience data or inbox placement. That narrower footprint is the trade: less to buy from one login, and nothing in the product that exists to sell the next thing.
04
If you use more than the verifier
Worth saying plainly: if blacklist monitoring and inbox placement testing are load bearing for you, a standalone verifier will not replace them, and swapping tools to save on the verification line while adding two other subscriptions is not a saving.
The clean case for moving is the common one. You verify lists, you verify at signup, and everything else in the suite is a tab you have never opened.
02FAQ
What people ask before they switch
Does BounceIntel do blacklist and reputation checks?
There are free domain reputation and IP reputation checks on this site that query the major blocklists, and domain reputation is available on paid plans. Continuous monitoring with alerting is not something we sell.
How do your scores compare to a deliverability score?
Ours is a score from 0 to 100 with the reason codes that produced it, so you can see which signals moved it and set your own threshold. It is meant to be inspected rather than trusted.
Can I verify at signup as well as in bulk?
Yes. The same engine answers a single API call, the dashboard and a bulk job, so a check at registration and a check in a batch a month later are directly comparable.
What happens to my data after a job?
Retention follows your plan and is described in the privacy policy and the data processing agreement, both published on this site rather than sent on request. Guest checks on the public tools store a keyed hash instead of the address.
Is BounceIntel cheaper than ZeroBounce?
Compare the total for the volume you will really use over a year, not the headline rate of a tier you will never reach. Our prices are on the pricing page and ZeroBounce publishes theirs.
Do unused credits expire?
Pay as you go credits stay until you use them. Monthly allotments reset with the billing period.
